Firewall applications vary, but if prompted you should allow the following processes:
• nsl_host_process.exe
• nsu_ui_client.exe
To try and solve this problem, do the following:
1) On your PC, select Start > Run... A window titled "Run" opens.
2) Type the following file path in the "Open" text field:
C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution\DPInst.exe
Click OK, and wait for Windows to complete the installation of Nokia Windows Portable Device Driver. The installation may take several minutes.
3) Restart your PC, and try to connect your device to the PC again.
If your device cannot be connected to the PC after the installation of the driver, reinstall Nokia PC Suite.

If the connection still cannot be created, do the following:
1) Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager.
2) If a driver has not been installed successfully, the list of devices in the Device Manager window may contain question marks or exclamation marks. If a driver has been marked with a question mark or an exclamation mark, it needs to uninstalled: select it and click Action > Uninstall.
3) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity Solution, and Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver.
4) Restart your PC.
5) Reinstall Nokia PC Suite at www.nokia.com/pcsuite.

General packet radio service (GPRS) is a network service that allows mobile phones to send and receive data over an Internet protocol (IP)-based network.
To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data connection and from the following options:
Modem settings
You can connect the phone using Bluetooth wireless technology or USB data cable connection to a compatible PC and use the phone as a modem to enable GPRS connectivity from the PC.
To define the settings for connections from your PC, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data settings > Active access point, and activate the access point you want to use. Select Edit active access point > Packet data access point, enter a name to change the access point settings, and select OK.
Select Packet data access point, enter the access point name (APN) to establish a connection to an network, and select OK.
You can download S60 applications for your Nokia device using your Mac, then transfer then to your Nokia device with Nokia Multimedia Transfer. The installation files for S60 applications are downloaded as an SIS file format. S60 SIS installation files can be transferred in the same manner as other files with Nokia Multimedia Transfer’s device browser.
File Transfer with Device Browser
1. Connect your Nokia device to your Macintosh (Mac).
2. Open Nokia Multimedia Transfer.
3. Click on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in the menu bar and go to Tools and Settings > Open Nokia Device Browser....
4. On the left hand side of the device browser window, find your Nokia device. Click on the arrow next to your Nokia device to open the memory folders. Files may be stored in the phone memory or on a memory card. Click on the arrows to reveal folders inside your phone memory or on the memory card.
5. Select a folder you wish to transfer files to or from.
6. You can transfer files between your Nokia device and Mac by dragging them to and from the folders in the device browser. The progress of the transfer will be shown at the bottom of the device browser window.
Alternatively, you may export files from your Nokia device to your Mac by going to File > Export. In the dialog that appears, browse to the desired file you would like to transfer from your Nokia device. Check the box next to the file(s) and click OK. Choose the location where you wish the files to be exported to, and click Export
7. To remove files from your Nokia device, select the file(s) and go to File > Remove from Device. A dialog will ask you to confirm the deletion. Click on Delete Items to remove the file(s).
Once you have transferred the application to your Nokia device, you will need to install it. Open the SIS installation file using your Nokia device’s File Manager. Please refer to your Nokia device’s user guide for more details concerning application installation.

All video recording files are called .3gp but depending on the resolution of the recording different codecs are used for the recording.
If one uses the QCIF (Quarter Common Intermediate Format) resolution (176x144) or lower the h263 codec will be used. For QVGA (Quarter Video Graphics Array) (320x240) and higher the MPEG-4 (MP4) codec will be used.

In the Nokia Multimedia Transfer menu, choose Device Settings for the device and in that window, click Remove Transferred Files from Device....This will remove any photos transferred from your Mac to your Nokia device. To remove the original photos captured by your Nokia device, use the Nokia Device Browser.

If your Bluetooth device is not selectable in the Manage Connections view, it is not visible in the System info either. To check Nokia PC Suite's detected Bluetooth drivers, open Nokia PC Suite and go to Help > About Nokia PC Suite > System info...
Follow the recommended installation order:
1) Install the Bluetooth driver
2) Install Nokia PC Suite
If the Bluetooth driver has been installed after Nokia PC Suite installation, try to uninstall Nokia PC Suite and Nokia PC Connectivity Solution (included in Nokia PC Suite 6.8 or newer). Then reinstall Nokia PC Suite.
